The Name

Oliva | Oliva is Spanish for olive, and signifies friendship and peace. Sarah has a deep appreciation for Spanish culture. Her time in Spain had a profound impact on who she is and what she wants Oliva Willow to be. Friendship and peace are two elements we hold dearly, and are proud to say you will experience during the planning process of your next adventure.

Why should a bride and groom hire a wedding planner?

Simply to enjoy your wedding celebration. (It’s a party, so let’s celebrate) To invest in your friends, family & guests without worrying about ANY of the details by yourselves. To have peace of mind that everything will run smoothly and not having to rely on your Aunt Susie to make sure tasks are being accomplished. Wedding planners are professionals who have experience and industry relationships that will allow the couple’s wedding visions to come to life.

How early should couples start to plan their wedding?

Anywhere from 9-12 months prior to the wedding date is a perfect time to start planning. You don’t want to wait until the last minute and feel overwhelmed, but you also don’t want to be planning for too long (as that can be overwhelming as well). It is highly recommended to hire your wedding planner right away, even for the Month of Coordination package. Your planner is the eyes and ears for all things weddings and will be your advocate from the very beginning of your engagement until the dance party is over.

A Wedding Planner is expensive; can’t my friends or family help out?

A planner is an investment FORSURE but it is an investment that will make sure your wedding celebration is beautiful & flawless while taking that stress & duty off you and your family. Just like you and your lover, your friends & family want to enjoy the day and celebrate with you rather than working your event for you. Everyone should be celebrating!

How Much Involvement will my Planner have?

As much or as little as you want them to have! Your planner’s level of involvement depends on the event planning package you pick AND your personal preferences. Some clients will have every single detail planned out and are just looking for a planner to execute their vision (Month of Coordination Package), and some clients want to sit back, drink champagne and let their planner take care of everything for their wedding day (Full Design Package). Oliva Willow works with couples at both ends of the spectrum (and anywhere in between) personalizing our service to your needs. So let us know what you want and we will find a planning package for you.
